Glasgow City Council (GCC) offer a wide range of services and support for businesses operating in and around Glasgow; ranging from funding, grants and loans to advice. All of these services and opportunities were designed and put in place to ensure business prospers in Glasgow, to encourage local manufacturing, recruitment amongst SME's and to most of all provide a much needed boost to the local and national economy.
These services are not just a quick fix designed to offer a instant cash injection to ailing businesses or to anyone with the slightest notion of a business proposition. These services are offered to support businesses for the long term, to provide them with the skills needed to operate successfully and to be an authority on offering sound and reliable advice.
PoLR have always been keen to be involved in such as scheme that is designed to support and grow SMEs in the local area; after all it is a cause close to our hearts here at PoLR! The opportunity to pass on our expertise and offer practical advice that we have amassed is one that we were eager to participate in.
The Business Support Programme offered by GCC offers funding, reviews and grants to eligible businesses listed below are a selection of the programmes on offer.
Glasgow Skills & Business Growth up to 80% Grants – grants and advice enabling businesses to secure funding, new contracts, review current sales and marketing procedures, undertake training to increase competitiveness and training in the understanding of finance. (subject to eligibility)
Business Development Review – a business review compiled by an expert assessing the current and future performance of the business with the view to identifying areas for potential growth.
Early Response Programme – this unique programme is designed to assist businesses who express concern about trading through the economic downturn. This programmes asses the future viability of the company and whether it is feasible that the company will survive and be able to continue trading. Providing the business owner and employees with support and advice throughout the process.
