WordPress ’3 point Oh!’ – first thoughts.

WordPress 3.0 has just been released and we decided to use on of our blogs as a guinea pig for a bit of testing and trying out of the new features. WordPress 3.0 is the 13th iteration of WordPress, it took 6 months to complete and involved the work of 218 contributors. Facebook swaps fans for likes

Facebook have put a stop to becoming a fan of pages and expanded their ‘like’ feature. Users were able to like things in friends status’ before but they can also now say that they like a page or an ad on Facebook as well as all across the web.

Why have they done this? Well, Facebook say it’s less of a big deal to say you like something than to become a fan of it so they’re saying it will make it easier for advertisers looking to build their fan bases. Read more…

To <!–more–> or not to <!–more–>

Using the <!–more–> tag in blog posts has become second nature to me but as it’s second nature it’s also something that I realised I no longer questioned and to be honest, can’t remember if I did back in the day when I wrote my first blog post! So when I published a post the other day and forgot the <!–more–> it got me thinking about why I use it.

When I started thinking about it I went to a the blogs I’m subscribed to as I wanted to see how they did it. I noticed the SEO companies all used the <!–more–> tag while it was a 50/50 split with the non-seo focused companies.
