It just happened to a friend and he got so mad. The transaction was already made so there was nothing to do but keep the bad domain and use it as a permanent redirect to the actual domain he wanted. Sometimes people do enter wrong addresses by mistake so it doesn't hurt to own the misspelled domains as well. Ain't it annoying when we look at our brand new domain and see we misspelled it?
