Everything Changes but you…

Time for a another look at why Internet Marketing is becoming more and more popular in every type of business and why this evolving avenue for revenue is (or in some cases, not) being realised.

Keeping up with the times has got to be something that business owners would be concerned about? Getting set in your ways is arguably a way of life, but hopefully not at the expense of your business!

I’m talking mainly about Marketing, here. There has been a sizeable ‘online shift’ in recent years and some companies have got in early and began to apportion the internet a fair slice of their marketing budget. There are, however, still some businesses out there who have stuck to their guns with their ‘tried and tested’ methods of marketing. I’m hopefully not being too outrageous or offensive by saying that I’m more just trying to highlight that some of them may no longer be methods worth sticking to those guns for.

If I had a Twiglet for every time someone said to me that they’ll probably just renew their (usually expensive) Yellow Pages ad this year without knowing how much business it’s giving them, I’d have an army of Pinocchio’s training in an SEO camp ready for an attack on the the SERP’s!

Things like newspaper and directories sitting next to the phone are diminishing media, the way that people search for products and services is quite, simply, changing. If you’re willing to rest on your laurels and see how things go without adapting your business to the current climate and customer, then you should be willing to fall behind your competitors.

There are a whole host of strategies you can do for your business offline, of course there are. The main issue is ignoring the elephant in the room because it may be ‘new territory’. Speak to some people, search yourself for a good internet marketing company and have consultation with them, you’ll find the general premise is similar, you’re just marketing in a different way, there is just a different arena these days for you to capture your customers’ attention. Archaic practises are a thing of the past. Get with the game old timers, stand on your Yellow Pages and kiss your old marketing techniques goodbye.
