PSYBT Regional Business Award – Glasgow
On Thursday 3rd September 2009 (let’s refer to it as ‘yesterday’), PoLR Ltd made it to the final of the PSYBT Regional Business Award (Glasgow region) and finished as very respectable Runners Up!

Ryan Carlton and Tom Lauckner
We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to the Winners: Tom Lauckner and John Moore of www.laucknerandmoore.com who won the award thanks to their popular and thriving sandwich shop ‘Piece’ located at 1056 Argyle Street.
The first prize was sponsored by D8 Design Consultants the runner up prize sponsored by Glasgow City Council. The event was held at the CCA (the Centre for Contemporary Arts) in Glasgow and was attended by many PSYBT representatives, volunteers and up-and-coming new businesses.
Sadly, Lynne Foster (Co-Founder of PoLR) had a long standing holiday to the USA booked and couldn’t be at the event to encourage me to behave myself. With John Moore (the other half of Lauckner and Moore) having work commitments at Piece to attend to (although he did make it later on in the day), it was left to myself and Tom to field the questions at the Q&A section of the awards. This went reasonably well, even though Tom had just came off a flight from Canada and we had previously dared each other to attempt to include as many song titles as possible in any answers we gave whilst on stage (we chickened out).
All in all, the day went brilliantly and it was great to see the new entrepreneurs at the event with their business ideas and innovative products. As well as representatives from Business Gateway, Regeneration Agencies in Glasgow and the Council.
We’re extremely proud to have been recognised as runners up in the Business Award for the Glasgow region and all the support and guidance given to us by the PSYBT in starting up and the aftercare.

Ryan Carlton, Tom Lauckner and John Moore
