We have been blogging a lot recently about advertising through the recession and why it’s important to keep the momentum (and search positions!) up when times are tough. We’ve shown you loads of example of why but its nice to see some figures to back it up.
A new report from the IAB (in conjunction with PricewaterhouseCoopers and the World Advertising Research Centre) does just that. They found that in 2008 advertising online has increased to a market share of 19.8% and currently accounts for £1 in every £5 of marketing budgets (through paid search, classifieds etc).
It would seem from these figures that companies are really starting to take notice of online advertising and see it’s benefits. Read more…
