The last few posts of mine have been in relation to an experience or a rant but i’ve not had much time to keep up with news lately so I will apologise just now for this post being along the same vein.
The other day someone asked me for IT help in the office, because I was busy (and trying to buy time until I had time to help) I gave them the classic IT support response of ‘Try turning it off then on again’. I know it was a cop out but I did say I was busy..!
Now, the other day I received a package from a well know online book/CD/anything store. I’d ordered a hat and when it arrived it looked as if it has been hemmed with a hacksaw. I sent in a comment via their online form asking if it was meant to look like that and received what can only be described as a typical support response…their help? They told me to Google the answer!
As a next step I would recommend searching for the information you require using one of the Web search engines, such as Google. I’m sorry I was unable to answer your question more fully on this occasion.
After my initial ‘What in the beejesus kind of support is that?’ feeling I actually started to laugh. It was just the most ridiculous response I’d heard and was in line with a sarky ‘Let me Google that for you‘ office response.
Out of interest I did Google ‘should my Buff cap be unhemmed‘ but it threw up no results (well, nothing helpful anyway, does this mean that Google has its limits..? Nah…surely not…
So it’s left me with the only other option – to return it and purchase another one from an actual shop where I can see it before I buy. A shame, as I am such a fan of buying online.
