At stupid o’clock ths morning I met Calum in a supermarket car park and set off to the Digital Content Coffee Morning. Ok, so maybe I’m making this sound more of an adventure that it was. Stupid o’clock was infact 8.30 and the ‘setting off’ took us to Hillington (about 15mins from our office) so as you see, not a huge adventure but a darn good one nonetheless.
The coffee morning was aimed primarily at mobile developers, we went along as there was a promise of talks on Google and Social Networking. We were’t let down, and the three points that were of most interest to Calum and myself were:
The Web – Present and Future by Robert Swerling of Google
The Evolution of Social Networks by Joe Hughes of Yomego
The homebaking (particulaly the caramel shortbread)
It was great hearing some “predictions” for 2019 in terms of e-commerce, advertising and mobile from Robert. Funding of social networks was something that has never really concerned me in the past, Facebook is free and that suits me just fine. It was interesting to hear how social networks are funded and to hear a few case studies – it gave us food for thought!
