The Date : Sunday the 16th August The Location : Knockhill The Event : The British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) The Group : A selection of PoLR’s web design and Search Engine Optimisation clients and team members all geared up (if you’ll excuse the pun) to make the most of an action packed, non-stop day of racing and entertainment.
The Action : We started off early from the PoLR office car park, a few hiccups, spilt coffee and lost group members later we finally arrived at Knockill for the start of the day’s acivities.
First up were the Legend’s quickly followed by the Porsche race. After these two came the first of the British Touring Car races. It was pretty impressive to watch – the closest I have come to racing is sitting in the passenger seat of Ryan’s car so you can imagine how exciting it was for me! The noise was unbelieveable and watching the cars lift off the ground at the corner we were at was some sight to see.
Deciding to have a look around we quickly stumbled upon the Karting area and like kids in a toy shop, most of the men in the group raced off to sign up for a go. After a lot of (reasonably friendly) camaraderie they donned their helments, lined up the carts and with looks of determination they set off. I’d like to say at this point that Ryan was gracious and in the spirit of PoLR-client relationships, let one of our customers win, being gracious, however, is not in Ryan’s vocabulary…
So it is with pleasure I tell you that team PoLR came out tops/first/best (delete as appropriate) and to illustrate and rub it in, the league table looked (a little) like this:
1 : PoLR
2 : David : Result Properties
3 : David B : FAB Designs
4 : Kerr : Edinburgh Organ Studio
5 : Duncan : Braehead Metals (spun out early)
6…but not least : Gary : Top Gamers Zone 😉
Thanks to one of our clients Barry from simeracing.co.uk for arranging it for us. We had a fantastic day and loved getting some the PoLR customers together for the first time.
